1370 Victory Drive Community Center Director
Some good stuff going on in South Euclid!
Community Cleanup Day
Hi everyone, This year’s Community Cleanup Day will be held Saturday,
April 27, 2013 from 9:30am to 11:30am. Come first (about 9-9:15am) for
donuts and coffee — then grab a trash bag, take a walk and “pretty” our city! Community Cleanup Day is not only a great way to show
your pride in South Euclid but to meet your neighbors and make a difference in
your neighborhood after a Northeast Ohio winter. This annual “Spring
Cleaning” event is a great way to meet people and each year we’ve grown in the
number of volunteers that have participated. In need of community service hours to fulfill graduation
or other civic requirements? Individuals needing hours must come to the
community center the morning of the event to check in and must return to the
center at the end of their service that day to document their time. Please register your street or organization and let us
know how many will participate in the event and what area you will be
responsible for. The group with the most participants will ride in the
rocket car (space limitations apply, some may have to walk with the rocket car)
in the Memorial Day Parade honoring our Veterans, as well as having the group
name inscribed on the permanent plaque.
Location Ideas: · Bexley Park (all of it, - volunteers might form groups where some walk the entire perimeter of the park and others form a line that
walks straight across the fields etc.) · Quarry North · Quarry North Dog Park · Quarry Park South · Rowland · Adrian · Areas surrounding Sacred Heart Of Jesus Church &
Notre Dame College · Green Rd. from Cedar to past Glengate Shopping Center
(can be broken down into different sections) · Mayfield Rd. from the library to Warrensville Ctr.
Rd. (can be broken down into different sections) different sections) · Monticello Rd. from Belvoir to Trebisky (both sides
of street) (can be broken down into different sections) · Your own neighborhood (i.e. Decide to walk 10 blocks and pick up trash on those ten blocks…one could walk Avondale from
Mayfield to Bluestone etc.) · Belvoir from Cedar to Quarry North; both sides of the street need to be picked up plus the median (can be broken down into
different sections) · Any parking lots that run off of Mayfield (there are many businesses on Mayfield with parking lots that don’t have car traffic on
the weekends) Let me know if you have any questions--trash bags and
gloves will be available at the Community Ctr. the morning of—hope you can
participate!
