Ted had a perfect combination of goofiness and quiet
dignity that won over everyone he met. The two were a familiar fixture in their
Tremont neighborhood, where Ted’s impressive stature regularly amazed
passers-by, who were then even more astounded to be kissed in the face by this
sweet, gentle boy. Who knows how many minds he changed and hearts he won. He
certainly won the hearts of all of us.
Sandy saw Ted through heart worm, leukemia and, finally,
lymphoma. On February 18, Ted left this earth as we all hope to—peacefully, and
in the arms of the person who loved him most. What a life he had! He will be
missed and remembered by us all.
“Ted's heart was as big as his
head, and he made friends with every single person he met. He won the hearts of
literally hundreds of people who were afraid of pitbulls until they met him, and
one of his greatest accomplishments in life was passing his Canine Good Citizen
test and serving as a breed ambassador for pitbulls. He loved life and got such
enjoyment out of every second of every day that you couldn't help smiling when
you saw him. He was a beautiful, graceful, loving dog, and he will be missed by
everyone who knew him. I am so grateful to have known him and to know that he
loved me. He lived a good life and he died with dignity.”
Animals contribute great joy and beauty to our world, yet many of these wonderful creatures are dependent on humans for their continued well-being. To care for these animals in our local community, South Euclid Humane Society was founded in March. 2000.

Cuyahoga County has a serious problem - an overpopulation of pets. Did you know that during a few hours in the United States, 415 humans will be born, and as many as 10,000 dogs and cats. As you can see by the numbers, there will never be enough homes for all of these animals.
With the proceeds from direct donations & fundraisers we organize spay/neuter programs for pets of South Euclid residents. In addition, the South Euclid Humane Society's volunteers spend time controlling the feral cat population using a strategy of trap, neuter, release.
The South Euclid Humane Society is always looking for volunteers. Please, if you love and care about animals, consider donating some of your time and love for those animals less fortunate than your own.
