The South Euclid Service Department has a broad range of responsibilities that affect everyday life in the city. Snow removal, leaf collection, street patching, park and pool maintenance, tree lawn, tree trimming and removal are some of these responsibilities. As part of the services of the Service Department, we will take care of exterior (outside of the home) skunk and raccoon problems. Please contact us at our e-mail address (below) with any questions or concerns.

The City of South Euclid Service Department is ONLY responsible for the collection of recycling. The city has a contract with Allied Waste to collect garbage.

City Service Departments:

As requested at our Trash Talk lunch last Friday, here are some facts and details about the computer recycling program in Cuyahoga County and our partnership with RET3 job corp.  Please feel free to use these to promote the upcoming computer recycling programs in your city.

** Since our first collection event in August 2000, Cuyahoga County has collected and processed a total of 5,580 tons (or 11,160,000 lbs.) of e-waste.

** In 2010, over 638 tons of computer equipment was delivered to RET3 job corp. by Cuyahoga County municipalities.  Additionally, 302 tons of computer equipment was accepted from Cuyahoga County businesses.

** In 2010, RET3 job corp. distributed 7,135 refurbished computers back into our communities.  The computers were donated to groups who teach children, seniors, and unemployed or underemployed individuals who need computer skills to find a job.  Of that number:

  • 1,405 computers went to the Cleveland Metropolitan School District;
  • 1,437 computers to other schools;
  • 3,056 computers to neighborhood learning centers;
  • 283 computers to church groups;
  • 954 computers to non-profit organizations.

The cities have had a vital role in helping to make our computer recycling and refurbishing program a success.  As always, we appreciate your efforts and support!

Thank you,

Cristie Snyder

Disposal of Latex Paint

Residents are asked to remove the lids and throw them away.  Then they need to air dry the contents totally with kitty litter or sand.  Once this is accomplished they can throw the cans away with the regular garbage.
