The redevelopment of the northeast quadrant of Mayfield & Green continues to draw closer to completion. The name of the new center is Marc’s Plaza.

Since the ceremonial groundbreaking was held in June 2016, much progress has been made. The former shopping center at the front of the site has been demolished. Work is now ongoing to prepare that area of the site for parking.

The new 60,000sf shopping center in the back of the site is almost complete. Currently, Just-a-Buck and Great Clips have opened in the new center. Subway and Pet Valu will be opening in October. A brand new full-service 45,000sf Marc’s will also be opening in early October once all site preparation work is complete.

The privately funded project is being led by DeVille Development, the developer of Cedar Center North.

Upon completion of the new building, two new outparcel buildings housing retailers or restaurants will be constructed along Mayfield Road. The former Burger King building will either be demolished or repurposed for a new use. There will also be a civic space and landscaping similar to that in the center of Cedar Center North, at the front of the site along Mayfield Road.

The full project, including construction of the two new outparcels and the repurposing of the former Burger King space should be complete by 2018.
