We have a full year of events planned to celebrate South Euclid’s 100th Birthday, here is the schedule:
Community Art Projects
The South Euclid Recycling Committee will be sponsoring a Recycled Artwork Challenge. There will also be a Rain Barrel Competition sponsored by the Centennial Committee. Please Click Here for details on these projects.
Centennial Gala Date & Time TBA
Come celebrate the Centennial at a gala which will feature food, drink, and an opportunity to meet former astronaut and South Euclid Native Carl Walz. Check back to this page for more details on this event.
Memorial Day Parade Monday, May 29th 9:00am
Join us for the Annual Memorial Day Parade, which this year, will also feature special displays and floats commemorating the City’s Centennial. The parade departs from Notre Dame College and travels north along Green Road to the War Memorial at Green and Anderson Roads where a ceremony will take place honoring our nation’s military veterans. Former astronaut and South Euclid Native Carl Walz will serve as the Grand Marshall of the Parade.
Centennial Weekend June 24th-June 25th
This will be a fun-packed weekend in South Euclid featuring Rock the Block on Saturday and a concert by the Cleveland Pops Orchestra on Sunday.
Rock the Block Saturday, June 24th 12:00pm-9:00pm
Rock the Block, the Mayfield Road Street Fair will be back for its third year. This year, in celebration of the Centennial, Mayfield Road will be closed between Victory and Sheffield which will allow the event to be unified. There will once again be music from local bands, food from local restaurants, kid’s activities, informational booths, and much more. Click Here for Details.
Cleveland Pops Concert Sunday, June 25th 7:00pm Notre Dame College Lawn
The signature event of Centennial Weekend will feature a free outdoor concert by the renowned Cleveland Pops Orchestra. This will also be the official birthday celebration for the city and will feature cakes from bakeries around the city as well as food trucks with food for purchase.
South Euclid Garden Walk July 22nd-23rd:
To commemorate the Centennial, the first ever South Euclid Garden Walk will be held. This is an opportunity for residents to showcase their gardens to their friends and neighbors. Please click on the Garden Walk Page for more information.
Harvest Fest Saturday, September 9th 11:00am-3:00pm Quarry Park
Join us for the 6th Annual Harvest Fest on Saturday, September 9th. In addition to the live cooking demonstration, live music, free use of the splash park, garden tours, and informational booths, there will also be extra displays to celebrate South Euclid’s 100th Birthday.
Time Capsule Friday, October 13th 1:00pm Notre Dame College Lawn
South Euclid officially incorporated as a village on October 13, 1917. To commemorate the City’s Official Centennial, a time capsule containing many relics from 2017 South Euclid will be buried on the Notre Dame College Lawn. There will be instructions to open the time capsule on the City’s 150th Birthday, October 13, 2067. Click Here for information on how to suggest an item to include in the time capsule.
